GROUP-1 From Seed to Fruit: The Strawberry Story
Starter
Prepared by: Merve Rabia Gül
One spring morning, as sunlight lit up the
small vegetable bed in the school garden, the little students were full of
excitement. That day, it was finally time to plant their strawberry seeds.
With guidance from their teacher Merve Rabia Gül, the children first softened
the soil and then carefully placed the tiny brown seeds into it. Each child
gave their seed a name. One of the most loved names was "Miss
Strawberry." Some children called her “Sweet Girl,” while others preferred
“The Red Queen.”
But what no one knew was that the seed wasn’t alone under the soil.
There were other tiny creatures living down there.
Deep in the earth lived Tony the Worm, right next to the strawberry seed in his
tunnel. Tony was a hardworking worm who spent his time loosening the soil. “Who
is this new arrival?” he wondered.
A bit further away, in a damp corner of the soil, lived the Tiny Mushroom
family, excited to welcome a new neighbor. They were the hidden heroes that
kept roots healthy and strong.
As days passed, the children learned to water the soil, follow the sun, and
wait patiently. Every morning they would run to the garden, eager to check
their little planting spot.
And one morning…
A tiny green sprout appeared above the soil!
“Look!” shouted one of the children. “Our seed has woken up!”
Miss Strawberry was no longer alone beneath the earth. She had children who
loved her, friendly neighbors by her side, and the beginning of a dream.
But that night, while everyone was asleep, a strange sound echoed in the
garden…
When the children returned the next morning, the soil had been disturbed—
and Miss Strawberry was gone!
